Let me preface this with saying NO, I did not lose my mind and YES I did enjoy it. So much in fact, my last day of spin I made my boyfriend come with me and endure the sweaty satisfaction that is spin class. I went to Cycle House in West Hollywood (cyclehousela.com) right now they even have a special where you first class is only $18! In my fitness journey I've been trying a lot of different things and this one sure kicks your butt, makes you sweaty and a plus, Alfred Coffee is right next door. If you have read my 20 facts you know that coffee is my numero uno!
As I walk in a like a little fawn not prepared for my first day of spin class I noticed it was a fast paced environment. I started on a Saturday so it was a sea of experienced riders and then there is me... poking my head through the crowd asking for my shoe size and basically doing a "fake it till I make it" hoping I don't have to google "how to set up a spin bike" but then one of the staff members came to my rescue and helped me set up my bike she was probably noticing my confused emoji face.

So, I am one of those people who needs motivation in my workout, whether that is from music or someone working out with me telling me not to stop, I need that extra push to keep me going that extra mile... **cue Mulan "make a man out of you" song** and that is what CycleHouse is all about. After my first class I signed up for what I call the 5 class starter kit. I think after that I went through 5 different instructor within those 5 sessions and for sure my favorite classes are the ones I did after work (burn off some aggression) and the ones with the loudest upbeat music - because you can hear my struggle bus noise (haha). If you're looking at classes and don't know which instructor to choose of which one is the best I recommend Nichelle and Nick. They kicked my butt, I left the sweatiest and Nichelle works you so hard that you want to come back for more. Strength is for sure in the struggle at Cycle House WEHO and they found a new member in me :)
Alfred's Coffee is right next door and is also an L.A. staple. Their slogan "But first, Coffee" which i would agree with! I was introduced to this coffee chain by one of my best friends Greg, who knew after college we would end up within miles of each other. He told me it was one of the best lattes I would ever have and ever since that first sip I would agree. Don't get me wrong, I'm still a Starbucks-a-holic, but when I'm in the mood for a gourmet coffee I head to Alfreds. Also a plus that it is right next door to Cycle House so i can get my caffeine fix right after class. My favorite, small double shot vanilla latte with almond milk! (I'm drooling just thinking about it)
